Our gin adventure began on one of our family walks on Dartmoor when we came up with an idea to produce a seasonal blend gin. A handcrafted gin that reflected its place of origin by using an inspiring selection of locally foraged ingredients that would change with the seasons and produce a distinctive gin experience.
We believe that nature has many exciting berries, plants and blossom combinations still waiting to be discovered. That’s why we embarked on a mission to match traditional gin botanicals with wild, local, seasonal ingredients to create a refined and elegant gin that will always be unlike any other.
Why the name Ten Tor? - Ten, for our base 10 traditional botanicals and Tor, for the distinctive granite outcrops on Dartmoor, a place as unique as our gin.
Gin botanicals distilled with Wheat Grain Spirit and blended with pure Dartmoor Spring water.
Craft distilled and hand bottled in Chudleigh, Devon
We do things a bit differently at Dartmoor Spirit™ - rather than soaking and stewing our precious botanicals in spirit before distilling we undertake a more delicate and reverent process known as 'Vapour Infusion'.
This method holds all of our gin botanicals in a fine mesh 'gin basket' within the Still, as the heated spirit vapours rise the unique flavours of our botanicals
are gently released and join together in a tantalising vapour infusion which then passes through our copper condenser. The resulting captured gin spirit is then carefully blended with pure Dartmoor spring water to create a premium quality, unfiltered London Dry Gin that reflects creativity, character and provenance.
Very small batch production enables us to get to know each and every bottle – we mark each bottle with it’s respective ‘Batch’ and ‘Season’.
We pick, select, ‘pestle & mortar’, distill, blend, taste, hand bottle, cork, label and box – endeavouring to produce a truly artisan gin that exceeds expectations.
Each season will reflect an ever changing array of freshly foraged botanicals, berries, blossom and fruit and therefore each season’s batches will bring a different gin with varying taste and style.
Our classic juniper and citrus handcrafted dry gin is infused for twenty four hours with fragrant juicy raspberries.
A bright, delicate and uplifting pairing, deliciously refreshing anytime and anywhere…
